The Howard County Board of Supervisors is taking applications for various county board and commission appointments for 2027. Howard County appreciates diversity in these appointments and welcomes all applicants at least 18 years of age. Terms and dates of appointments vary.

This list is not all inclusive. The Board of Supervisors is always looking for people interested in serving their community. Applications are required and can be obtained at the office of the Howard County Auditor or on the county’s website www.howardcounty.iowa.gov. HELP WANTED

Howard County is seeking a fulltime position as a Maintenance/Custodian at the Howard County Courthouse, Sheriff’s Department and Public Services Building. 

Must have own transportation, experience in HVAC, Boiler, automated systems or willing to learn and general knowledge of snow and lawn care and operating maintenance tools and equipment and general custodial duties is preferred.

Salary will be based on experience. The county offers vacation/sick leave, health insurance, IPERS, Life Insurance and Flex Spending.
