Howard County Conservation Board - Camping

Howard County Conservation Board  - Camping

Camping fees at all of the HCCB Campgrounds are $25.00 / Night, which includes water and electrical hook-ups at each site.

We do not take reservations for camping, all areas are first come - first served.

The Howard County Conservation Department aims to have all campgrounds, including their bathrooms and water hookups at each campsite, by the first FULL weekend in May.  However, we are on Mother Nature’s schedule when it comes to the weather, so the extended forecast must include above freezing temperatures in order for the water to be turned on and dry enough ground conditions for the campgrounds to open.

The Howard County Conservation Department turns off all water and closes restrooms in all parks and campgrounds beginning on the second Monday in October.  However, we are on Mother Nature’s schedule when it comes to freezing temperatures, so if there are freezing temperatures in the forecast BEFORE the second Monday in October the water and restrooms in the parks and campgrounds may be turned off earlier

Protected by woods and amid the scenic view of the Turkey River, the campground is located up a winding country road just beyond the Prairie's Edge Nature Center. Click Here for more Information About the Turkey River Campground.
